This is a really unique show. It is a contest that ANYONE can enter. It doesn´t matter if you are a long-time comic or if you´ve never done this before, this is a chance to get stage time in a real show and compete to win a prize. The prize is:
A GUARANTEED SPOT IN ANOTHER SHOW AT FLAPPERS! Each Sunday, the comedian voted the funniest by an audience vote will win a guaranteed spot in another show at Flappers.
In addition to the competitors, we will have two featured comics and one Headliner. Our first Headliner is the utterly amazing JAY LONDON!!!
FAQ*: Who can enter? Anyone can enter. The only caveat is that you not have been booked for an appearance at Flappers within the prior two weeks, and aren´t scheduled for two weeks after the date of the show.
How do I enter? To enter, simply email promotions@flapperscomedy.com and say that you want to enter the Flappers Open and we´ll put you down. There are ten spaces available every week. If you aren´t in the first ten, we´ll let you know and put you down for the next available date.
How is the winner chosen? Straight-up audience vote. The one who gets the most votes wins. There is no second place. So bring a friend or two or twelve to have a shot at another show at Flappers on a different night.
How can I bring my friends? Each entrant has up to 5 comps. Please submit a list before the show if possible. Tickets are $5 apiece for people not comped. The club´s two-item minimum does apply.
David Rusiecki is a standup comedian, actor, improviser and playwright. David grew up in Washington DC and began comedy under the tutelage and training of Gary Jacobs. He is also a graduate of the South Coast Repertory acting intensive program. A member of New Voices Playwrights Theatre, David has performed at the Comedy Store and Brea Improv and has hosted the Ultimate Laff Down at Flapper's Claremont as well as California's Funniest Female Contest at Flapper's Burbank.
