At age 20 during a company softball game, Drew got hit in the throat with causing his vocal chord to paralyze, turning his chattering into stuttering. This life-changing injury sparked a passion for writing and performing Stand up Comedy, bringing to life the social hardships of dealing with a newly-found speech impediment. Chris Gardner was born in July 14, 1989, and was raised in Santa Clarita, CA, an outskirt of Los Angeles, in a small area called Agua Dulce, which is spanish for Sweet Water. His was the only black family in his neighborhood causing him to draw experience and influence from both a black, and white background. This diverse upbringing reveals itself in his stand- up allowing him to connect with any audience.
