Actor, Writer and Director Kel Mitchell was honored with a Cable Ace Award in 1997 for Best Actor in a comedy series for his work in the Nickelodeon series "Kenan and Kel" and also honored with a Kids Choice Award in 1999 for Best Actor in a comedy series for both Nickelodeon series "All That" and "Kenan and Kel". Having a genuine understanding of today´s youth and roots in kid´s television, Mitchell speaks to youth across the country encouraging them to follow their dreams, to walk by faith and not by sight and live a Godly lifestyle. Kel is involved in putting on and hosting uplifting concerts in inner cities teaming up with major Gospel and Christian music artist. CLAREMONT AUNTIE CLARES COMEDY CONTEST - is a branch of the original Uncle Clydes Comedy Contest -- LA's Longest Running Comedy Contest -- and YOU pick the winners! There are 7 preliminary rounds. In each preliminary round, 10 comics perform a five-minute set. A special guest performer or group is invited to perform at "Half Time" and at "Math Time" (the end of the show while the votes are being tallied). The 1st Place Winner receives $101 cash prize, 2nd Place receives a $50 gift card from Flappers Comedy Club or from another location, and 3rd Place gets a Auntie Clares traditional Chips and Guac. The top two finishers will be invited to perform in the Soup-Or-Bowl finals. Each Soup-Or-Bowl Audience Vote winner will receive $300 cash, Second Place wins a $50 gift card, and Third place wins a plate of Chips and Guac. Additionally, our Industry Judges Vote will receive a Professional Gig at Flappers Comedy Club and Restaurant. **The producers reserve the right to manage contestants in any way possible or to control placement of contestants in any and all ways possible.**
The Top 3 finishers from each Soup-Or-Bowl Finals, (as well as the judges wildcard winner - TBD), will be invited back at the end of the year to participate in Clares Playoff Week --a run of 3 shows held at Flappers Claremont Comedy Club Main Room in December 2016. First Place in each playoff round will win $101, second place will win a $50 gift card, and third place will win a plate of Chips and Guac. The Top Three performers from each playoff round will be invited to perform in The Clare´s Cup to be held on Dec 28th 2017 at 8pm in which ONE winner will win the title of Clare's Cup, their name on a huge Trophy, along with a $500 Cash Grand Prize, a professional gig at Flappers Comedy Club and Restaurant. We have Celebrity Judges lined up from Comedy Central, Princess Cruises, Flappers Comedy Club, Comedy Festivals, MySpace Comedy, National Lampoon, and many more. Michael Batman Rhodes was raised in Southern California. His first performance happened on a dare from some employees who believed he was in the wrong career. He entered the state of Washington´s version of "Last Comic Standing" and made it all the way to the semi- finals. His quick wit,sarcastic delivery and knack of engaging the crowd, quickly won over the judges and people in attendance. Making a name for himself in Washington, he made his way back to his hometown. He's a student of comedy to nth degree. "You got to realize that there is always something to learn, otherwise you are just staying at the same level" His comedy is sarcastic and in your face, he navigates his way seamlessly from telling a hilarious story to engaging the crowd keeping them involved and laughing.
