Sam was born and raised in the barrio in East Los Angeles. He avoided gangs and negative influences by immersing himself in his Catholic religion. He ascended to being a lector where he would be quoting bible verses in front of the congregation at 12 years old. In 1982 Sam began DJ'ing at local parties in East LA and Montebello. He wrote his own rap song and used to perform it to the instrumental flipside of a 12 inch single. He later progressed to karaoke and prides himself to sing like Barry White or Tom Jones. In March 2010 after tragically losing his father in an accident, he took to comedy joining Bobbie Oliver's Ice house class. His bawdy raw and blue comedy is influenced by Buddy Hackett and Richard Pryor.
