Nancy Jo Perdue began writing and performing comedy as a coping mechanism for growing up in Amarillo, Texas, where she was often verbally abused by critical relatives.
She enjoyed a successful journalism career in Texas and Washington State before moving to Los Angeles in 2008 because she loves Southern California weather.
She has studied comedy writing with Bob Hope's head writer, Gene Perret. Her standup tutors include national headliner Dobie Maxwell and Barry Weisenberg, who was named Funniest Person in Orange County and a winner in the Las Vegas Comedy Festival.
Nancy Jo continues to work as a freelance journalist and has written one-liners for Dobie Maxwell, Barry Weisenberg and Chunky B., the warm-up comedian for 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson".
She writes a weekly humor blog: Nancy Jo's Jokebox, which is updated each Wednesday. http://www.NancyJoPerdue.blogspot.com
