As a performer and writer, I find the two very much alike. Doing something brilliant, something that will always be remembered, you need to do that which you love and love that which you do. Coming from someone who has performed in major clubs across the country for over 20 years and who has done 15 plays and appeared in over 20 films and commercials, it takes an 18-wheeler of faith to make an audience laugh at something you've written. At least it does for me. Art is a wonderful calling, but it is not easy nor is it for the faint-of-heart or those who are in it for the money or fame. Those people disappear in a fraction of a second if they ever appear at all.
