Our Stand Up Level 3: Advanced Studies courses are intended for students with a strong grasp of basic comedy technique and ample performing experience who are looking to focus their attention on one of four major areas of comedic study, with the intention of improving or expanding their existing comedy material and career. In our Stand Up Level 3: Business class, we shift our focus from the craft of comedy to instead study the tools required to turn one's act into a professional career! Topics covered will include:

- Identity branding
- How to take responsibility for your own career
- Required promotional materials
- Building a fan base
- Promotional videos
- How to seek representation

This class will include a stage performance in front of a live audience on one of our Flappers club stages; additionally, this particular Level 3 class will culminate with the opportunity to "pitch" your comedy act to a real agent!

- Students MUST have a basic 3-5 minute act prepared in advance, which will be performed in Week 3.
- Additionally, it is suggested (but not required) that students allot themselves an additional budget of approximately $200 to craft personal promotional materials (postcards, business cards, web services) based on the marketing lessons covered in Week 2.
- Finally, it is also strongly recommended that students have access to a laptop computer with a basic graphics program (Photoshop, etc.) and basic video editing program (iMovie, Roxio, etc.) to implement some of the lessons in-class (again, this is strongly recommended, but not required).

PREREQUISITES: Completion of Stand Up Level 2: Intermediate class with teacher recommendation for advancement is required; comedians wishing to apply for special consideration to move up early may do so by emailing the Dean of Classes at
