While audiences may believe that good stand up comedians are just 'talking off the top of their heads', comics know that there's a LOT more work that goes into the construction of a well-crafted joke! In this unique workshop, comedian and Flappers University Dean of Classes Ken Pringle offers a condensed 'review' version of some of the talking points from his popular Stand Up Level 3: Structure class, exploring some of the structural elements within both the set up and punchline of a joke, as well as the psychological factors that can determine its success with an audience. Here, we explore advanced-level concepts such as bridges, assumptive reasoning and stylized punchlines, as well as providing real-world examples for breakdown and analysis. If you've ever wanted to learn how to analyze a joke and understand WHY it works... don't miss this opportunity!
