Check out the hottest comedians, improvisers, and sketch acts from around the country at the 4th Annual Burbank Comedy Festival's remote location: The LA Connection Comedy Theatre.

Since 1977 the L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre's mission has been to perfect the art of improvisation. To inspire, train, develop and nurture talent of all ages through the rehearsals and weekly live performances.

Our goal is to create a community of performers who can develop their talents in a supportive setting. A safe environment of trust, support, growth, and freedom allows our performers to showcase their individual talent in a group dynamic.

The LAC will continue to expand our horizons in all areas of media to create opportunities for professional and amateur performers alike. We love to teach, we love to perform. We love to laugh. We love improvisation.

BROOK FOREST ENT., THE GONG SHOW WRITER, CANDID CAMERA, TALENT MANAGER,
The shorter half of the married writing, producing, managing, performing team of Barb and Steve North, the Barb began her career touring comedy and folk clubs with Steve and appeared on over 30 network and syndicated television shows in the late 70's and early 80's- before moving behind the camera. Writing and producing, the North's were Head Writers of the late 80's rendition of The Gong Show and wrote or produced for many others including Candid Camera, Make Me Laugh, Bachelor Party and Switcheroo. In 1992, the North pair created the successful home base for standup comedians at the L.A. Connection in Los Angeles, which, now in it's twelfth year, continues to offer private coaching, workshops and Industry Showcases for beginning and experienced comedians to have support, feedback and a safe place to grow.

Comedian Bob Ooten

With two and 1/2 years of experience, Bob is a new face on the stand-up circuit but he has a lifetime of trying to entertain his friends and family–just ask his wife of 52 years. Bob is an Iowan, a civil/environmental engineer, a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a politician, Bob needs the lightness of comedy to balance it all out. He has appeared in the Burbank comedy Festival, at FLAPPERS in Burbank and Claremont multiple times, been to the third level in the Uncle Clyde´s Comedy Competition, has opened for Al Jackson, has performed in Iowa and Michigan and has appeared in Orange County Comedy clubs libraries and the Lion´s club Fish Fry.

Lynn Dilmani, Born and raised in the South, she never quite gave in to the redneck lifestyle. As a Registered Nurse, for over 30 years, she´s also known as one of the sexiest life-savers around. Her Stand Up Comedy show describes her exciting life from her experiences as an ER Nurse to her Marriage and Divorce of an older persian man "whom she met during the Iranian hostage crisis." While juggling an active dating life, this Grand-Cougar is the proud mother of two, and Grandma of five.

Jimmy is a sixty-something returning comedian after taking a 25-year self-imposed hiatus. "I came back to standup," Jim explains, "After realizing what a joke my life has been." He claims that, even at his age, he still turns women's heads. "Just the other night," Jim explained, "I was in a bar and when I walked past some really hot women, I overheard their admiring comments. 'What and ass!' 'What a waist!' they said. In a rare moment of honesty, he does admit that, while unlikely, it's possible one of the women might have said "waste," and not "waist."

Mari Haig started with a bang at an early age performing in a comedy/ventriloquism act with her tiger puppet and a violin. since then, she learned to open her mouth while speaking and Stand-up Comedy was born! Expert training with Steve North the Comedy Coach led her to perform regularly at the L.A. Connection in Burbank. Others, to name a few, are Ice House, and Improv Comedy Club.. Before that, the acting bug flew into the picture! The Actors Workshop was key. Mari was featured in a comedic scene in "The Studio Club" (R.J .Adams ) With her unique, quirky style with violin in hand, Mari loves to make you laugh, wherever she goes!

Comedian Perry Krauss

Perry Krauss has been doing stand-up for about two years, beginning at age 72. Perry has developed his comedy skills under the guidance of comedy coach, Steve North. He has performed regularly at the L.A. Connection in Burbank. Though performing stand-up is fairly new to Perry, the entertainment business is not. Perry worked for over thirty years in television as a writer, producer, and director, primarily in sit-coms, such as "Barney Miller", "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" and "On The Rocks", to name a few. Perry´s left-of-center views of the world are quite unique, and he loves to share them with his audiences.

Comedian Joel Brill

As a card carrying member of AARP, Joel Brill has pretty much seen it all, done it all and can´t remember most of it. He shares the bits and pieces that he can remember about life, with side splitting results. His unique blend of comedy comes out as he discusses the challenges of being a senior citizen, marriage, business, sex, kids and a host of other topics. Joel started telling jokes in 3rd grade and hasn't stopped since. While he performs in clubs around The USA, he gets most of his laughs in the bedroom.

Started doing stand up at the age of 70. My, "What do I have to lose?" project. To my surprise people responded warmly and enthusiastically to my sets (who knew?) I do some bit on aging for sure, but also a lot of cutting edge material. (Not remotely your typical senior!)

Old comic, new jokes. They call him the "Wrinkled Rebel" but if that´s true, he says he´s "going down fighting." He´s comedian Marty Ross who started his stand up comedy career late in life, so he may have to take a nap before the fight. Marty waited until he was almost eligible for Social Security before taking to the stand-up stage so "I could fully experience the misery of getting old" he says. He recorded a pilot for Vin Di Bona Productions and he has just launched his first comedy CD, "Wrinkled Rebel: Going Down Fighting, But First, A Nap."

Comedian Amanda Cohen

Amanda started doing comedy when she was 17 and in 12 short years, she quit standup to pursue improv at the Second City Conservatory in Chicago. In that past life, Amanda played many great comedy clubs that don't exist anymore. As a feature she opened for Paula Poundstone, Gilbert Gottfried, Jake Johannson, and many non-alliterative comedians as well. How long ago? She once did a show in Virginia with a young feature named Patton Oswalt. Yes, feature. Then after an epiphany in 2015, she remembered she was a comedian and came back to us. Today she's based in LA recently performed in the Burbank Comedy Festival. Her influences include George Carlin, Albert Brooks, Paula Poundstone, and Dana Gould.
